October 2007 Issue of Boston Magazine

Today the October '07 issue of Boston Magazine hit newstands. I'm really excited because it is my first issue where I shot a feature story of people (it's my second feature story I've had published, the first was the beaches shoot). Here are the tearsheets (the first, intro page, with the X-ray is an illustration by Bryan Christie [ www.bryanchristiedesign.com ] , but I'm including it so you can get an understanding of the piece.)

It was a really fun piece to shoot. I got to meet so many different kinds of people, and even got to include my friend Boris ( iheartboris.com ). Everyone was super nice, and I'm really happy with how it came out.

Johnny's 23rd BirthGAY Party!

Here are pics from my roommate and best friend John's 23rd BirthGAY Party, that we had in our apartment on Saturday night. It was so much fun to have everyone in our tiny apartment, and we spent the later part of the night at Avalon (saturday nights are gay night!), which is closing down in a couple weeks. Hull Street Festival

Today was a street festival in my town, Hull. I helped out at my mom's booth, for her website, www.hullmagazine.com (she's amazing!!). Here are a couple pics from the day... of note: two GIANT awesome dogs (or bears...), my Mom and her boyfriend, Klaus... me and my Mom... John and his Mom (johnnycupcakes.com)... two Hull firemen who made me laugh wicked hard... a huge group of awesome rebellious Naruto cosplay teenagers... etc ;)

Linus

I'm a little proud of myself that I've updated my blog three days in a row. Here's a roll of film I got developed today of my puppy, Linus, in my mom's backyard last weekend. I shot them with a lomo fisheye camera, and they make me laugh, so I'm happy with them. Work is going well, we're wrapping up the October issue, and there are some exciting things in the magazine, more details to come later...

On an unrelated note, I picked up a circular today at CVS and saw my photos... quite a weird feeling.

Sept Release Party

Well, it's 6:30pm, still at work, and have a feeling I'm going to be here all night. But, I am going to try to update my blog daily, so am taking a quick break to put up some pics.

One of my favorite parts of my job is going to the release parties for every issue. Who am I to turn down free food, drinks, music and beautiful people? Here are some pics from the September release party, which was held on a rooftop pool deck at the Colonade in Copley Square.

I'm starting a new blog to go along with my new life. For those of you who don't habla espanol, or who don't know all of my names, Davida=me, Mi Vida=my life.

I'll put up photos, tearsheets, designs, etc. Here we go, first one, kinda of underwhelming, but it certainly pays the bills. Nothing like seeing your photos in a CVS ad... (I was the Essence of Beauty photographer, a.k.a. the photos on black in the middle).
