A couple new tearsheets

Here are two tearsheets from the January 2008 issue of Boston Magazine that just came out. I did the photos in both, not the design. If you get the issue, I designed the pages in the CityJournal and the Food+Drink sections - it's not worth posting here!

Here are a few more pages from the December issue of Boston Mag. I didn't design them (I know, confusing, because I'm the designer...) I just did the photos. I've got a couple random little shoots coming up next week, but am trying to focus on my day job for awhile and be the best I can be at the magazine.

Boston Magazine, December Issue

Sometimes I am a photographer for Boston Mag, and sometimes I'm a Designer. In this case, I was both :) Here's a page I shot and designed in the new December 2007 issue. It was a really cute assignment, I got to meet four cab drivers late at night in their favorite late-night places to eat.

Sometimes we get free stuff at work...

On a good day at the magazine, we get free food, alcohol, expensive chocolates, beauty products, books, CDs, etc...

On days like today, we evidently get tiny hats. Here's a pic of my co-worker, who would kill me if she found out I put this online, so keep it to yourselves... (that means you, Feifer). She's adorable, isn't she?

My super awesome friend Yoon

Another ridiculous night. Was psyched to be on the guestlist, getting to avoid the line that was three or four blocks long. Hung out and photographed in the little DJ booth high up above the dance floor (if you've been to Gypsy Bar, you know what I'm talking about). It was awesome to meet three super talented, world renowned DJs. I had a blast with the girl pictured below, although it ended a little crazy... anyway, was a pretty awesome night.

FELIX DA HOUSECAT // The Estate, Boston // October 31, 2007

Wednesday night was amazing. I got to photograph and hang out with another one of my longtime heroes, Felix da Housecat. If you lived with me during college, you might remember that I constantly played his remix of Nina Simone's "sinnerman" (listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9zkeHalWfs ) along with the rest of his albums.

The show got off to a rough start because of some sound problems, but once Felix began, it was awesome. His set was short but fabulous. After the show, we went back to his hotel room at the Ritz with his management team and girlfriend. We drank champagne and ordered room service, which was pretty sweet. It was a phenomenal night, although it resulted in my going to work the next day on 1.5 hours of sleep, as I got back to my apartment around 5am... details, details. Barack Obama

Last night, I photographed Barack Obama at his rally in Boston. It was a really fun night, perfect weather considering it's almost November, fantastic speech by Barack, and good people. I got to see a co-worker who was blogging about the event, a old friend from college who is working on the Obama campaign, and my friend Yoon, a photographer with the Boston Globe. Speaking of Yoon, here is a photo I took of him during his 2 minutes up close with the Senator and then a photo he took of me during my 2 minutes up close with the Senator ;)
