For every photo that is used in a magazine, it is chosen from a larger selection of images. When I'm designing for Boston Mag, that's a part of my job, going through other photographer's film to find the image I want to use in the page's layout.
In this case, I was the photographer, and my creative director, Bob Parsons, was the designer. I think he chose really good images for the feature, and I loved the design. Anyway, here are some images that didn't make it into the magazine...

Hey Diana, it was just an old school (cheap) medium format camera. It's really fantastic that you get to be photographer and designer! living the life!
